Studio Amel
Amel Karboul is an abstract contemporary artist, writer, and curator of human gatherings. Her practice moves across painting, ritual, story, and dialogue, exploring grief, resilience, dissent, memory, and the architectures of human connection. A dancer by early training, her embodied understanding of rhythm informs everything she creates.
Through Studio Amel, she weaves painting, storytelling, and the design of transformative spaces into one living practice.
CURATING HUMAN GATHERINGS
Amel curates human gatherings as a form of artistic practice - multisensory spaces composed with structure and openness, where attention, relation, and presence become the material.
Each gathering is crafted like a living installation, shaped through story, research, movement, silence, and the six senses.
It is not a workshop, but a journey - one that invites presence, emergence, and shared inquiry.
ART
Amel’s art practice spans painting, installation, and site-responsive work. Her pieces explore resilience, dissent, lineage, memory, and becoming through gesture, layering, and emotional mapping.
Across evolving bodies of work - including Bodies of Relation, Body of Dissent, 2425: Fragments of Resilience, and projects such as Tide and Trace - her visual language moves between surface and space, inviting viewers into emotional and contemplative terrain.

WRITING & REFLECTIONS
Writing is the quiet spine of Amel’s practice.
Her poetry, essays, and fragments trace the emotional and conceptual currents running beneath the work - exploring rupture, surrender, dissent, resilience, and rebirth.
